Covid-19: Self-scheduling now open for those aged 16+

COVID-19: SELF-SCHEDULING NOW OPEN FOR THOSE AGED 16+The self-scheduling portal for Covid-19 vaccinations is now open for people aged 16 and over, just one week after the appointments system was opened for those aged 18 and over. The portal allows you to select the place and date you want to be vaccinated, then you will receive an SMS message confirming the appointment date, time and vaccination centre.

Since the self-scheduling portal went into operation on the 23rd April 2021, initially for people aged 65 and over, since then it has been systematically made available for ages 50, 40, then 30 and 20 years olds, most recently 18 and overs, now those aged 16 and above.

The vaccination plan appears to be ahead of schedule. In July, the Minister of Health said that the vaccination against Covid-19 of people under the age of 18 should start in the last week of August, if the government were able to maintain the planned vaccination plan. “What we estimate is to follow this plan that we have and with the quantities of vaccines that continue to arrive, we will be able to open vaccination for those under 18 in the last week of August,” said Marta Temido.
