COVID-19: Portugal’s Current Status Is Positive

COVID-19: PORTUGAL'S CURRENT STATUS IS POSITIVEIn the last three days, 1,013 patients were discharged from the hospital, 96 of whom were in intensive care units. The number of hospitalizations recoreded is the lowest since January 11, when 3,983 cases were registered.

Yesterday, Portugal recorded 105 deaths related to Covid-19 and 1,944 new cases of infection with the new coronavirus, according to the Directorate-General for Health (DGS).

The DGS epidemiological bulletin also reveals that 3,819 patients are hospitalized, 318 fewer than on Wednesday, of whom 688 are in intensive care, 31 less.

The data released today also indicate that 4,401 people were reported as recovered, bringing the total number of recovered to 687,462 since the beginning of the pandemic in Portugal, in March 2020.

For 18 consecutive days, the number of recovered patients exceeds that of new infections.

Active cases in Portugal continue to decline. Today Portugal has 89,613 active cases, down by 2,562.

Since March 2020, Portugal has registered 15,754 deaths associated with Covid-19 and 792,829 cases of infection with the SARS-CoV-2 Coronavirus.

Health authorities have 107,553 contacts under surveillance, down 7,128 compared to the previous day, maintaining the downward trend since January 30th.

According to the latest data from the Directorate-General for Health, Portugal currently has 556,331 people vaccinated: 347,013 with the first dose and 209,318 with the second dose.
