Covid-19: Active cases continue to decline in Portugal

For 22 consecutive days, the number of recoveries exceeds that of new infections.

Yesterday, Portugal registered 61 deaths related to Covid-19 and 549 new cases of infection with the new Coronavirus, the lowest number since October 6th 2020, according to the Directorate-General for Health (DGS).

Active cases in Portugal continue to decline. Today Portugal has 80,642 active cases, down 1,699.

Since March 2020, Portugal has recorded 16,023 deaths associated with Covid-19 and 798,074 cases of infection with the SARS-CoV-2 Coronavirus.

Health authorities have 79,699 contacts under surveillance, 6,702 less than in the previous day, with a downward trend since January 30th.

According to the latest data from the Directorate-General for Health, Portugal currently has 432,414 vaccinated with the first dose and 247,843 with the second dose.
