All municipalities of the Algarve now have active Covid-19 cases
For the first time since the pandemic hit the Algarve, all 16 municipalities of the Algarve now have active Covid-19 cases.As cases increase, September (18,153) had more cases than April (16,736), but less patients hospitalised and in the ICU. Now, October has already recorded four of the worst ten days in number of new cases of the pandemic.
As of today, the Algarve region has 1862 confirmed cases, sadly resulting in 20 deaths.
The four Algarve counties with the most active cases are :
ALBUFEIRA with 113 (17% of the total cases)
LOULÉ with 105 (16% of the total cases)
VILA REAL DE SANTO ANTÓNIO with 88 (13% of the total cases)
TAVIRA with 59 (9% of the total cases)
Those Algarve counties currently with less affected, with under ten active confirmed cases are São Brás de Alportel with 9, Vila do Bispo with 6, Alcoutim with 3, and Aljezur and Monchique both with just 1 active case each.
