17 hotels and tourist resorts, and four Algarve golf courses, as well as the Algarve Tourism Region, have been nominated for categories in the Publituris Portugal Travel Awards 2019, the results of which will be announced on 17th of September in Cascais.

The Algarve is once again well represented in this year’s awards, considered to be the “Oscars of tourism” in Portugal, and dominates many of the categories, especially the Beach Hotel category, in which five of the seven candidates are in the Algarve region.

In the Beach Hotel category, the Algarve’s candidates for the award are Bela Vista Hotel & Spa (Praia da Rocha, Portimão), Epic Sana Algarve (Albufeira), Martinhal Sagres Beach Family Resort (Sagres, Vila do Bispo), Suites Alba Resort & Spa (Albandeira, Lagoa) and Vila Joya (Galé, Albufeira).

Three other areas where the Algarve dominates, with four nominations out of seven, are Best Hotel Resort, Family Hotel Resort and Golf Course.

With regard to the Hotel Resort, the named nominees are the Cascade Wellness Resort (Lagos), Conrad Algarve (Almancil, Loule), Pine Cliffs, Luxury Resort (Albufeira) and Vila Vita Parc Resort & Spa (Alporchinhos, Lagoa).

The 3HB Falésia Garden (Albufeira), Adriana Beach Club Resort Hotel (Albufeira), Aquashow Park Hotel (Quarteira, Loulé) and Salgados Palm Village (Salgados, Albufeira) projects are candidates for the best Family Hotel Resort.

Also named are the Algarve golf courses Dom Pedro Victoria Golf Course (Vilamoura, Loulé), Monte Rei (Vila Real de Santo António), Palmares Golf (Lagos) and San Lorenzo Golf Course (Loulé).

Online voting is currently taking place. Interested parties can participate through the awards’ website, which has been promoted for 16 years by the newspaper Publituris, a publication specialized in tourism.

The Publituris Portugal Travel Awards 2019 are designed to reward the best companies, institutions, services and professionals that stood out in the tourism sector during the last semester of 2018 and the first of 2019.
