Algarve GNR detects 55 violations in the first month of the new law on motorhomes

GNR DETECTS 55 VIOLATIONS IN THE FIRST MONTH OF THE NEW LAW ON MOTORHOMESThe National Republican Guard (GNR) detected 60 violations in total in the first month of new legislation regarding caravanning and occasional camping outside of the indicated places.

Between January 9th and February 9th, the GNR imposed fines totalling 3,540 Euros, with the vast majority of violations detected in the Algarve region Faro (55), three in Odemira, in Beja and two in Moita, in the district of Setúbal.

Those fined were from several countries, namely Luxembourg, Germany, France, England, Poland, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Finland and also Portugal, according to the GNR.

“With the recent legislative change, the GNR is carrying out awareness and inspection actions in a progressive way, through an adaptation to the new regulations, in conjunction with the local authorities”, pointed out the representative for the GNR.
