17 year old man arrested for murder of an elderly man

The murder took place in July 2021, when two other perpetrators were arrested, the third man had been on the run until police arrested him yesterday.

The crime occurred in Faro, on July 4th 2021, when the corpse of an elderly man was found, with serious injuries to the skull as a result of an assault.

The arrest and further detention of two of the perpetrators, aged 22 and 29, took place in August 2021. Now, investigators have located the third member of the group, an out of work 17-year-old young man, who was on the run.

This third young man will present in court this Thursday, and appropriate measures put in place for the crime committed.

The victim, an 80-year-old man who lived alone was found dead at his home in Quinta da Jardina, a rural area of ??Faro. At dawn, the neighbours were worried about the barking dogs and lights that were on, and called a family member who discovered the house overturned, drawers ripped out, mattresses overturned, and the lifeless body of the man who had been violently attacked.
