Portuguese man accused of shooting son and mistress mother

A five-year-old boy died in northern Portugal on Saturday three days after he was shot by his father during an argument with his mistress, the boy’s mother, who was also killed, Lusa news agency said.

The 55-year-old man was arrested Friday morning over charges he shot the child and his mother at the entrance to the building where they lived in Ermesinde, near the city of Porto.

The man opened fire during a fierce argument with his 40-year-old mistress, who refused to let him leave his wife and move in with her and their son, according to local media reports.
