A Portuguese couple was arrested trying to fly out of Paraguay with 9.5 kilograms (20 pounds) of cocaine, officials said Tuesday.
They were arrested at the Silvio Pettirossi International Airport, en route to London with a stopover in Brazil, officials said without naming the couple.
Authorities said the seized drugs were of high quality and were hidden inside the couple’s luggage.
The man and woman were expected to appear before a judge to face charges.
