Portugal’s unemployment rate hits 9-year low

algozdistcentreThe unemployment rate in Portugal, as at the end of July 2017, stood at 8.9%, according to the National Institute of Statistics. This is the lowest figure since November 2008, when the rate also was 8.9%.

The Secretary of State for Employment, Miguel Cabrita, believes that the numbers show that “the economy is more dynamic and that the government has made the right decision in restoring the incomes of families.”
