In the new Michelin guide 2016 Rotterdam is rewarded with one extra star, which brings the total to 10 Michelin stars. New on the list is restaurant Joelia of masterchef Mario Ridder, who opened in February 2015 in Hilton Rotterdam.
Rotterdam has three restaurants with two stars:
- FG Restaurant,
- Parkheuvel
- Restaurant Fred.
There are also four restaurants with one star in the city:
- Joelia
- Amarone
- Wereldmuseum
- FG Food Labs.
Experimental chef François Geurds continues to surprise his guests in his FG Restaurant (**) with a transparent Bloody Mary. After experimenting in his taste laboratory he succeeded in making a colourless cocktail that still tastes and smells intensely like tomato.
FG Noodle Bar
Michelin-star chef François Geurds has also created a new culinary concept: FG Noodle Bar. A shopping experience where the diner picks and selects his or her favourite ingredients from the shelves. With these self-picked ingredients the masterchef prepares a noodle soup or stir fried meal. FG Noodle Bar offers a large amount of noodles and fresh ingredients like eggs, beans, sprouts, chicken, tofu, beef and shrimp. FG Noodle Bar is located next to FG Food Labs(*) in the Hofbogen in Rotterdam.
