PARIS, July 30 (AFP) – The number of people registered as looking for work in France increased by a tenth of a percentage point in June, taking the overall unemployment rate to 9.9 percent, the labour ministry said on Friday.
A total of 2,453,600 people were registered as unemployed, the ministry said.
Coming on top of a jump of 0.8 percent in the number of jobless in May, the June increase took the total rate, as measured by the International Labour Organization, from 9.8 percent to 9.9 percent.
