French soldiers hurt in Kosovo car crash

PRISTINA, Serbia-Montenegro, Jan 23 (AFP) – Two French soldiers serving with NATO-led peacekeepers in Kosovo (KFOR) were injured when their military vehicle collided with a bus, a KFOR spokesman said Sunday.

The accident happened on Saturday, on the road between the capital Pristina and the southern town Prizren, he said.

The soldiers, after being taken first to military hospitals in Kosovo, were evacuated to France on Sunday for further treatment, he added.

Their condition has remained serious, but was not life-threatening, the spokesman said, adding that another civilian had also been slightly injured.

Authorities were investigating the accident, he said.
