The chambermaid at the New York hotel who accused IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn of sexual assault identified him in a police line-up, police said Sunday.

Asked if police could confirm that Strauss-Kahn was identified by the alleged victim in a line-up, a NYPD spokesman answered: "that is correct."

New York police arrested Strauss-Kahn on a plane about to take off from JFK International Airport Saturday and charged him with sexually assaulting and attempting to rape the maid.

US media said she had entered his hotel suite thinking it was unoccupied.

Strauss-Kahn's lawyers said he denied all the accusations and was planning to plead not guilty.

I am a New York City resident and I know how the NYPD operates. Unfortunately, the NYPD is more concerned about media publicity than justice and fairness. The NYC Police Commissioner, Raymond Kelly, has political ambitions to be the next mayor of New York City.
