Wanadoo surfs on sales wave

PARIS, Feb 3 (AFP) – France Telecom’s Internet subsidiary Wanadoo reported a 26 percent jump in sales Tuesday to EUR 2.617 billion (USD 3.3 billion) in 2003 compared with 2002.

The figure was consistent with group objectives, which had been for sales to increase between 25 and 30 percent last year.Sales in the final quarter of the year were up 13 percent to
EUR 711 million.

Wanadoo said it had 2.453 million high speed Internet access subscribers in Europe at the end of December, 382,000 more than at the end of September.

The company overall had 4.52 million clients in France at the end of December and 2.58 million in Britain.
