Three die in light plane crash in France

MONNETIER-MORNEX, France, March 26 (AFP) – Three French people died and two were seriously injured when a light aircraft crashed in the Haute-Savoie region of southeast France, rescue workers said Friday.

The plane, which left Pisa in Italy with four men and a woman on board, disappeared from radar screens shortly before it was due to land at Annemasse just south of Geneva in Switzerland late Thursday.

The wreckage was found in mountainous terrain some 15 kilometres (10 miles) south of Geneva early Friday. Two men and the woman were dead while the two others, including the pilot, were seriously injured.
