Swedish skier dies in French Alps

BRIANCON, France, March 29 (AFP) – A Swedish woman on a ski vacation in the French Alps died Monday from bad head injuries after running into rocks, police said.

The accident left the woman, who was aged in her 30s but not identified, unconscious and efforts by paramedics at the scene failed to save her.

She had lost control while skiing down a run above the town of Briancon and slammed into the rocks. Her body was taken to the morgue in the town’s hospital.
