PARIS, Jan 6 (AFP) – Paris will officially present its bid for the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics on the first level of the Eiffel Tower here on January 16.
The presentation will be made the day after the deadline for the city’s bid dossier to arrive at International Olympic Committee (IOC) headquarters.
All nine potential host cities have to complete a questionnaire and return it to the IOC by January 15.
Istanbul, Havana, Leipzig, London, Madrid, Moscow, New York and Rio de Janeiro are the other candidates to organise the 2012 Olympic Games.
Among those present at the Eiffel Tower will be Paris mayor and president of the bid committee Bertrand Delanoe, sports minister Jean-Francois Lamour and president of the French National Olympic committee Henri Serandour.
