PARIS, July 7 (AFP) – Eurotunnel, the France-British company that operates the Channel tunnel, said Thursday there was no “specific threat” to the rail link, following the string of deadly rush-hour blasts in London.
British authorities told Eurotunnel that there was “no specific threat linked to the tunnel,” a company spokesman told AFP, adding that the company was in “constant contact with French and British security services”.
Security was beefed up on high-speed Eurostar trains between Paris and London, which travel through the tunnel.
The French state-owned railway SNCF advised passengers to postpone trips to London, offering ticket reimbursements or exchanges.
