LORIENT, France, Nov 28 (AFP) – A French woman gave birth to a baby girl in a car travelling at 70 miles per hour (110 kilometres per hour) as her husband raced to get her to hospital, a newspaper in Brittany reported Friday.
“I didn’t have time to panic. I had no choice. There was no question of stopping on the hard shoulder. I let down the car-seat and the baby came. I took her on my tummy,” the unnamed mother, who already has two daughters, told Ouest-France.
The incident took place on Sunday on the way to hospital in Lorient. Mother and baby were both doing well Friday, the paper said.
