French teen gang held for children’s rape

BOURG EN BRESSE, France, Dec 20 (AFP) – A group of teenagers are in custody for allegedly raping a seven-year-old boy and his four-year-old sister in their apartment block in eastern France, police said Monday.

Five adolescents aged from 12 to 18 were put under criminal investigation Saturday for the rapes, which took place in the town of Bellegarde sur Valserine.

The young boy was assaulted over three afternoons in his apartment’s bicycle storage room.

His sister was raped on the third afternoon when she happened to be in the room with him, a source close to the investigation said.

Two other teenagers, aged 12 and 13, were being sought on suspicion of also taking part.
