French consumer prices up 2.2pc on year

PARIS, Jan 21 (AFP) – Consumer prices in France rose 0.1 percent in December and were 2.2 percent higher than in December 2002, final figures published Wednesday by the official statistics agency INSEE showed.

For the full-year 2003, consumer prices rose 2.1 percent from 2002. They had climbed 1.9 percent in 2002 from the previous year.
