PARIS, Dec 10 (AFP) – The world’s top tourist attraction, the Eiffel Tower, has been decked out for the holidays with Christmas trees, lights and even a 1900-era photo studio.
Officials said the studio installed on the second floor of the tower will begin operating on December 15 and will allow visitors to be photographed in costumes dating back to the 1900s.
Hopscotch grids have also been drawn on the first level.
The tower, which was decked with 20,000 light bulbs to usher in the new millennium, will still sparkle for 10 minutes at the top of every hour.
The holiday decorations for their part will come down on January 4.More than six million people visit the tower every year, 400,000 of them in December.
