PARIS, March 24 (AFP) – US soft drinks giant Coca-Cola said Wednesday it was suspending the launch of its Dasani brand of bottled water in Europe, notably France and Germany, following its withdrawal of the drink in Britain.
Coca-Cola had said Friday it had begun withdrawing Dasani from British shelves as a precaution after the product failed to meet the company’s standards of quality.
The firm said it had discovered that the water, launched in Britain last month, contained levels of bromate that exceeded British legal standards but that there was no health risk.
