Boxing: Asloum takes WBA world light-flyweight title

LE CANNET, France, December  8, 2007  – France’s Brahim Asloum took the WBA light-flyweight title from defending champion Juan Carlos Reveco of Argentina
on an unanimous points decision on Saturday.
   The 28-year-old Asloum clinched a world title at the third attempt with the
24-year-old Reveco suffering his first defeat in 17 fights. 
   Asloum, the 2000 Olympic champion at this weight, had twice failed to win
the flyweight belt losing to Venezuela’s Lorenzo Parra in December 2005 and
Omar Narvaez of Argentina here in March.
