THE HAGUE: The International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) is due to hand down its verdict in the trial of wartime Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic, accused of some of Europe’s worst atrocities since World War II. Verdict expected from 1200 GMT.

LE VERNET, France/HALTERN, Germany: Hundreds of people in France and Germany will gather to mark the first anniversary of the Germanwings tragedy in which a suicidal pilot crashed a plane into a mountainside, killing all 150 on board.

Relatives of victims will gather at Vernet in the French Alps where the plane went down. From 0841 GMT, the time the plane went down, there will also be a ceremony in the German town of Haltern to mark the loss of 16 schoolchildren and two teachers in the tragedy. Picture. Video.
