Frankfurt warning strikes hit airlines

3 March 2004

FRANKFURT- Flights of Singapore Airlines and American Airlines were cancelled at Frankfurt airport Wednesday in a warning walkout by workers at a catering company.

The white-collar and services workers union ver.di said that several flights by the airlines were affected by the walkout of 150 employees of the Gate Gourmet company.

The walkout, in pressing wage demands, ended at 9 a.m., but the effects of the action were expected to be felt on other flight operations at Frankfurt airport throughout the day, the union said.
