Audi sales in China surge 70 percent

17 December 2003

INGOLSTADT – The Audi division of carmaker Volkswagen reported Wednesday that its sales in China for 2003 will reach around 62,000 cars, nearly 70 percent over last year’s mark.

The company said that the figure represents a tripling of sales in the Chinese market in three years.

Audi said it had started 2003 with projected sales of 50,000. In November alone, sales totalled 6,100, nearly double the November 2002 figure, the company said.
