Tommy Haas set for return in San Jose

HAMBURG – German tennis player Tommy Haas will return to action from a 15-month injury layoff at this week’s tournament in San Jose, California, his management announced on Thursday.

The former top-10 player Haas, 24, last played in October 2002 in Sydney before being sidelined with a shoulder injury which required two operations.

“I can’t wait to play again. Training alone is simply not enough. I want to be back on the circuit and win matches,” Haas said in a statement.
