STUTTGART – A lucky fire chief in a southern German town is driving a Porsche Cayenne complete with flashing lights and siren.
Porsche says it outfitted the fire-brigade version of its off-roader with manoeuvrable searchlights, oxygen equipment, a first-aid case and, naturally enough, with fire extinguishers.
The red Porsche was acquired by the volunteer fire brigade of Bietigheim-Bissingen, where there are hills and streams to negotiate, plus an autobahn where firefighters can push the Cayenne to its maximum speed of 214 km/h.
