Polish police detained a motorcycle gang member wanted for murder in Germany who had been hiding out in northern Poland, national police headquarters (KGP) in Warsaw said Monday.
Officers from Poland’s Central Bureau of Investigation (CBS) nabbed Dariusz S. in the streets of the northern seaside Pomorze region, where he now awaits extradition to Germany.
“Wanted for participating in a brutal murder in Germany, Dariusz S. was detained in Pomorze by officers from the CBS,” KGP spokesman Karol Jakubowski said in a statement published Monday on the KGP website.
“Together with other members from his gang, he lured the victim to a secluded place. There they beat and tortured the victim, before shooting them,” Jakubowski continued, without further identifying the victim or saying when the crime took place.
The suspect later crossed the border into Poland and then formed a new chapter of his gang there, the KGP said, adding that German prosecutors had issued a European arrest warrant for him.
A police video posted with the KGP statement showed officers handcuffing and hauling away a man in a red tracksuit jacket with “Hells Angels Poland” written in white lettering on the back. Other Hells Angels paraphernalia was also pictured.
