Men see themselves judged by looks

13 May 2004

HAMBURG – Eight out of ten men in Germany see themselves judged on the basis of their looks, according to an opinion poll published by the women’s magazine Brigitte.

About one quarter of all men and women see no difference between correcting a tooth deformity and a “small aesthetic surgery”, the poll found.

Some 18 percent of women under the age of 30 said they would have fewer problems if they changed their looks with plastic surgery. A total of 23 percent of women aged 30 to 39 said they would undergo such treatment if it was not that expensive, the poll revealed.
