NEW YORK – Germany took over the rotating presidency of the United Nations security council Wednesday night and will hold the post for the next 30 days.
On the agenda for the UN’s highest decision-making body in April are the continuing fight against global terrorism, the Iraq conflict and conditions in the Middle East and Afghanistan.
Germany began in January 2003 a two-year term as one of the ten non-permanent elected members of the security council.
