Six people were injured, including the driver, on Tuesday, when a Berlin regional train derailed near Tegel Airport in the north of the city, police said.
Due to faulty points, carriages three and four of the six-carriage S-Bahn were redirected onto neighbouring tracks, forcing the entire train off the rails.
Five passengers were taken to hospital and the driver was being treated for shock, according to a police spokesman. Close to 100 firefighters rushed to the scene.
Investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
