BRUSSELS – A Belgian couple with very few friends recently decided to invite complete strangers to their wedding, reports the Flemish newspaper Het Laaste Niews.
Marianne Lacouf and Ronny Buysee put an advertisement in their local paper asking prospective ‘guests’ to send them congratulations cards.
They then chose the 43 most interesting replies and invited the senders to their nuptials.
“We didn’t know half of the guests but we had great fun. It was the party we had dreamed of and the nicest surprise was that we made some new friends,” said Ronny.
