BRUSSELS – Last week’s heavy snowfalls in Belgium cost the economy EUR 320 million, the country’s main business lobby said on Monday.
The Federation of Belgian Enterprises made the calculation by estimating that every person in the country lost two working hours a day during the recent bad weather.
The figure reached corresponded to 0.125 percent of Belgium’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) or EUR320 million argued the FBE.
The federation did not say how much extra money was generated by Belgium’s ski resorts last weekend however.
