BRUSSELS – Belgian drivers are among the worst in Europe, according to a new survey.
The Sartre poll shows that the Belgians are most guilty of not wearing their seatbelts, drink-driving and not being in control of their vehicles.
However, it also reveals that Belgian drivers are not as prone to speeding as other Europeans, are more sensible with their mobile phones and are not as guilty of road rage.
The survey, “social attitudes towards road risks in Europe”, was conducted among 24 000 drivers in 24 countries and will now be presented to the European Commission.
