Women are happier than men at work

BRUSSELS – Women in Belgium are happier at work than men, according to a new survey out Thursday.

The ZebraBenchmark 2005 found women also talked more positively about their immediate boss.

Almost a third (30 percent) of workers interviewed “agreed” or “completely agreed” that they had to battle against the clock to reach their deadlines.

A total of 1,677 Belgian workers were interviewed for the study, which also revealed that those who worked for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME) were happier than those in big companies.

More than one in 10 people (12.25 percent) complained of harassment, with the majority of them accusing their immediate boss.

Almost 3 percent said they had experienced inappropriate sexual behaviour in the workplace during the last 12 months.

Fifteen percent of workers believe their job could be on the line in the near future and one in three workers think there’s a link between their physical aches and pains and their job.
