Three girls who survived a Swiss bus crash that killed 22 children and six adults have woken up from an induced coma and are no longer in danger, the hospital were they are being treated said Tuesday.
“After a particularly alarming period the young patients’ health has improved markedly and there is no longer any immediate threat to their lives,” the Lausanne university hospital said in a statement.
The three are expected to return home to Belgium soon, the local prosecutor said.
The coach carrying 46 children, four teachers and two drivers slammed into the wall of a Swiss Alpine tunnel on March 13, killing 28 people.
