BRUSSELS – A total of 925 identity cards for foreigners and children have been stolen from commune offices in Antwerp, it was reported on Monday.
Each document is worth almost EUR 1000 on the black market.
Thieves seized the goods from the “population” office by entering the commune building just behind the local police station, the Belga news agency reported.
Failing to crack open a safe, the thieves proceeded to take it with them.
