LOUVAIN – Hugo N., the suspect recently arrested for the disappearance of Nathalie Geijsbregts in 1991, passed a lie detector test on Thursday.
The 48-year-old psychiatric nurse has always insisted that he had nothing to do with the disappearance. The results of the polygraph seem to indicate he may be telling the truth.
Hugo N. was arrested on 15 April after a thorough search of his home in Rotselaar. The search turned up child pornography. The man had himself requested the lie detector test to prove his innocence.
The public prosecution department in Louvain says the result of the polygraph is just one of the elements in the file and that the investigation will continue. The court in Brussels will decide whether N. must stay in custody any longer in connection with the Geijsbregts case.
