Students block access to school
12 February 2007
The director of the school said that the teacher had been fired for a serious error but refused to say what that error was or give details on the nature of the matter. The 24-year-old teacher was popular among the school’s students.
About 50 of the 120 students attending the professional school took part in the demonstration and displayed banners supporting the teacher. The student body spokesman said that apart from a few first year students no one was attending classes and many teachers cancelled class on Monday.
Student representatives will meet with the school administration on Friday. No protest actions are planned until then because many of the students take part in professional training and internships several days a week.
