Storme admits to drug dealing

8 October 2007

BRUSSELS – Leopold Storme (20), who has been held in custody for more than three months in connection with the alleged murder of his parents and sister, confessed to his family that he dealt in marijuana and was involved in an attempted arson of his school. These confessions were leaked earlier from the criminal investigation.

Vincent Storme , Leopold’s uncle, had dismissed them as rabble rousing at the time.  But on Sunday morning his nephew confirmed that the reports were true.

“The many sim cards which he needed for his drug dealing he had obtained via a promotional campaign by a magazine.  Leoplold denies however that he had travelled to the Netherlands to stock up on marijuana,” Vincent Storme said.  ” He also admitted to taking part in setting fire to his school’s chemistry lab at the end of May 2003.  But all this does make him the killer of his parents,” Vincent Storme concluded.

There is also some good news for Storme.  At the scene of the triple murder all the blood traces belonged to the victims except for one blood stain found near the foot of one of the victims.  A comparative test on five boys from the circle of the suspect’s friends did not render any evidence.

Leopold Storme has interpreted this as a (small) indication that could confirm his version of the tragedy: he says that his arrival at the shop took the attackers who stabbed his parents and sister by surprise. These attackers beat him unconscious and put the murder weapon in his hand, he claims.
