A video released by police of the arrest on Monday shows an officer running down a street, his gun outstretched as the man is pined to the sidewalk outside a restaurant in Madrid by two other policemen.

One policeman then jammed a gun into the back of the man’s neck and warned him not to move.

The man, identified only as 47-year-old Conrad T.

, is wanted in Belgium to complete a 10-year sentence for smuggling 155 kilos (342 pounds) into Belgium from Ecuador in July 2011 inside a tuna shipment.

He then supplied the drugs to the Hells Angels in the Belgian city of Bruges, police said in a statement.

Police said he also faces charges in Belgium of membership in an armed gang and money laundering.

Spanish police located him in the southern city of Malaga on Spain’s southern Costa del Sol after being tipped off in July 2013 that he was in the country but then lost track of him.

“As the investigation continued police determined that the fugitive maintained a sporadic relationship with a woman who lives in Madrid,” police said in a statement.

“Officers discreetly observed the woman’s home during months and on October 13, 2014 the fugitive was seen leaving it and he was detained.

“The man has been brought before the National Court in Madrid to face extradition proceedings to Belgium.

Police said his arrest was carried out by the same Guardia Civil team that detained his right hand man, 45-year-old British national Trevor Moore, on the Costa del Sol.
