Simplified tax forms on the way

BRUSSELS – Belgian tax forms are to be cut from eight pages to one this year to speed up the procedure.
 
It should allow the tax man to quickly scan the financial means of those owing tax.
 
The tax authorities are aiming to send out the forms quicker this year, having started halfway through January.
 
To help those filling out the forms, a supplement will be attached in a similar format to the current documents. 

Analysts warn however that the reduced size tax forms do not mean Belgian tax bills are likely to be similarly slimmed down any time soon.
