BRUSSELS – Finance Minister Didier Reynders (Liberal Reform Party MR) was besieged by a group of demonstrators in Louvain on Wednesday, the spokesperson for the minister reported.
The minister was attacked by about 10 people as he headed home. They threw a quantity of animal blood on his car, shouted out anti-Walloon slogans, and held up a large banner advocating separatism.
The minister, whose visit to Louvain was part of his “tour of Flanders” with business organisation Unizo, has reported the incident to the police.
