Report slams old people’s home

27 April 2005

BRUSSELS – A damning inspection report has been filed on the Le Gadin old people’s home in Mont-sur-Marchienne after its residents were evacuated two weeks ago.

An investigation by the state council found that the 24 hour presence of qualified nurses was not guaranteed at the home.

It also discovered traces of long term dirt and unsanitary conditions, reports La Gazette newspaper.

On the basis of the report, an appeal by the home’s management to the state council was rejected.
