BRUSSELS – The Belgian post office is making a profit for the first time in years.
In 2004, it registered a profit of EUR 36 million, compared to a loss of EUR 63 million one year earlier.
The operational profit was EUR 34 million, compared to a EUR 69 million loss in 2003.
The profit is due to high revenues – up from EUR 2.1 billion to EUR 2.25 billion – coinciding with a fall in overheads from EUR 2.17 to 2.11 billion.
