BRUSSELS – Antwerp Police Commissioner, Eddy Den Hondt, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of fraud, tax evasion, forging and using forged documents.
Suspended from his post since his first accused in June, Den Hondt will appear before the Chamber of Counsel Friday to ascertain whether his preventative suspension should be maintained.
Den Hondt is suspected of using police monies for work on his private swimming pool, as well as paying false invoices into his own bank account while acting as director of Antwerp’s Police Academy.
