Orange-blue tough on fraud
19 October 2007
BRUSSELS – The Christian democrats and the liberals are going to intensify the fight against tax and social security fraud. That was decided on Thursday morning at the formation talks. The negotiators agreed to set up an agency that would co-ordinate all the inspectorates. In addition, they want to tackle social security fraud, such as fraud with unemployment benefits, just as toughly as tax fraud.
Today the negotiators are continuing their talks on the issue of efficient government. Among other points they will discuss the number of civil servants needed in the coming years.
